How to save TikTok videos and find your favorites again
TikTok is where a lot of good ideas show up first: a 20-minute dinner, a hidden beach, a desk setup worth copying. Saving one is easy. Finding it again, among hundreds of favorites, is where most people give up. Here’s how TikTok’s favorites work, and how to turn them into something you can actually search.
Where TikTok keeps your favorites
- Tap the bookmark icon on the right side of a video to add it to your favorites. Pressing and holding a video usually offers the same option.
- Group them (optional). TikTok lets you put favorites into collections, so you can keep recipes apart from travel ideas.
- Find them on your profile, under the bookmark tab, where your favorite videos, collections and other saved items live.
TikTok also has privacy settings that control who can see your favorites, so check them if you’d rather keep your list to yourself.
Why favorites get hard to find
- Captions don’t say what’s in the video. “You NEED to try this 😭” tells future-you nothing about which recipe it was.
- Collections only help if you use them every time. Most favorites end up in one long grid.
- Finding one usually means scrolling. The more you save, the longer that takes.
- Videos can disappear. If a creator removes a video or makes their account private, it can vanish from your favorites without warning.
Save TikToks to SaveMyPosts
SaveMyPosts doesn’t log into TikTok or read your favorites. It only keeps what you share to it, which makes it fast and private:
- Open the post in TikTok and tap the Share arrow.
- Open the iPhone share sheet. If SaveMyPosts is not in TikTok’s own share panel, look for More or Share via… — that opens the standard iOS sheet with all your apps.
- Tap SaveMyPosts. The first time, you may need to tap More at the end of the app row and add SaveMyPosts to your favorites so it stays at the front.
- That’s it. A moment later the save has a clear title, tags, and a place in a collection such as Recipes, Places, Products, Fitness, Ideas, Watch or Fun — and a notification tells you where it landed.
Each save gets a plain-language title and tags written from the caption and the preview image, so the vague caption above becomes something like “Garlic shrimp spaghetti, one pan.” Photo posts work too.
Finding a TikTok you only half-remember
Search in SaveMyPosts matches on meaning as well as words. Type what you remember — “that pasta with the green sauce”, “cheap beach near Naples”, “10 minute ab workout” — and it can find the save even if the caption never used those words.
Or don’t search at all: open Recipes, Places or Fitness and everything is already sorted, with a cooking time on recipes when the AI could tell.

Questions
Does the creator know if I save their TikTok to SaveMyPosts?
No. Sharing a video to SaveMyPosts happens on your phone and does not like, favorite or comment on anything. Nothing about it is visible on TikTok.
What happens if a TikTok I saved gets deleted?
The title, summary and tags SaveMyPosts wrote stay in your library, so you still know what the video was. The video itself lives on TikTok, so once it is removed the link no longer plays — SaveMyPosts is not a video downloader.
Do I have to unfavorite videos in TikTok?
No. Your TikTok favorites stay exactly as they are. You can keep using both, and deleting a save in SaveMyPosts never touches TikTok.
Is SaveMyPosts available on Android?
Not at the moment. SaveMyPosts is an iPhone app, available on the App Store.
